What gets me is he was just a baby in this video. Still in his 20s, and yet, he embodied all of the gritty, jaded spunk this character needed. He really was born with a gift of talent. And frankly, I think he sings it better than the original guy, Alan Campbell. Campbell was too over the top.

Maybe not the vocally polished version but his is the only version I've seen who actually seemed the understand the lyrics (his delivery of "dead right I've sold out", "I like the lady", and "I'm a writer", and the slight pause before "elegant solution" has convinced me that they should ALWAYS be done that way), and OMG he sure nailed that final note!

Goodness, im obsessed. He's intoxicating as a presence. He is such a baby here, too. Unatural levels of charisma.

2021 i watching this

What a great actor

I found it surprisingly real and sad at the same time. Wonderful documentary about the human condition, regrets, unfulfilled dreams and why we need to follow them instead just watching others living it again and again.

That last note is absolutely amazing!!

It’s like ‘spot the show’ and ‘spot the theatre star’ tied in with compelling stories about the theatre fans themselves. Can’t wait to find out more about the Debbie Gibson stalker. Thank goodness there are so many different artists in the world! Barrowmen was great, Jackmans great. Different character choices, that shape the story in new ways. I can’t wait to hear some up and coming theater actor sing it, and show me new depths of the story.

I tried this on three devices (my desktop, tablet, and phone) and none have audio for it for some reason.

The acting here is so precise it's just amazing.. Nothing is too much, everything comes organically. My favourite performance, next to Michael Ball and Alan Campbell, Jackman is just such a good character actor.
